Here I am standing in front of the ancient city wall of Nanjing. Once upon a time, this wall went all the way around the city, which did a great job protecting its’ inhabitants. While most of it is still intact, major portions of it have been removed (mainly for roads and transportation needs) The walls are huge though. They stand as tall as 40-50 feet high, and are a good 15 to 20 feet thick.
In this particular area they had a big museum that you could pay to go in and look at pictures and stuff, but we didn't want to do that yet. Instead we walked around the area and saw a dragon boat go by. Dragon boats are long, skinny boats with 20-40 people all rowing along to the beat of a big drum. That was a pretty neat thing to see.
