"Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come."

Texas State Fair

February 2018

We caught wind of a State Fair and Rodeo and we figured Texas is probably the best place to experience this so we went and we were not disappointed! We didn't make it to the rodeo part as it's quite expensive so we'll wait a few years for that, but seriously, the craft booths and animals and food were memorable!

Pizza face

Brain freeze

Petting a snake

This was probably the coolest place for the kids. They had a big corral with probably 30 or 40 animals inside that we could pet and feed: goats, llamas/alpacas, deer, ducks, chickens, sheep, and a donkey. So fun!
Petting a... thing... miniature goat??

Poor Abi was so excited about the rides but she just wasn't tall enough. Maybe next year?
Just not quite tall enough yet

Excavating a dinosaur

Identifying rocks and jewels

Isn't this incredible? I can't believe how cool sand sculptures can be!
That is sand!

Abi learning to rope

Daddy learned, too

She got it!

Ok, so I don't think she ever actually roped it but she was adorable anyway.
Quite a cowgirl

This was the booth run by the big grocery chain HEB. The kids got to run around gathering plastic produce and eggs and then they earned these hankies, bags and other paraphernalia. Then we watched a magician perform. That was really neat!

She's too cute!
She sure looks the part

Not for long, bear

Overall, it was a complete success of a day! We all loved it! But next time I will remember to bring paper towels and water to clean the stroller wheels off or maybe just newspaper to put it on until we get home and can hose them off. The amount of manure we walked through and pushed that stroller through is enough to make me sick but I chose not to think about it. And now it's a distant memory. Haha! But next time I'll be better prepared!
The fair wore them out
