"Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come."

Harper Camping Trip

While Jenny was home, (between mission and BYU), we decided to all go on a camping trip in this incredibly lovely spot right here in this area! (Can you believe that?)

On the way up, we passed about a hundred turkeys... that might be an exaggeration but there were definitely 30 or so throughout the trip.

We helped Jason and Mary set up their tent and then they did the fire I think while we set up our tent. Steve wanted to help set it up and called it "my tent" even though it had nothing to do with him. Even now, a month later, he sees the pictures and says, "James helped set up my tent!" Whatever. It can be his tent for the weekend.

These next two are some of my favorites.
Here's why - he put that binky in the cup holder himself. That was not me. :D Smart kid, eh?

Here's my niece Liz eating a delicious dinner called hot dogs.

One of my favorite parts of this whole trip was watching Jason light the fire the next morning. It rained a bit during the night so our wood was slightly damp. Jason didn't let that hold the fire back. He doused the wood with gasoline and let it up and it really lit!! I think his arm hairs were a little curly for a while...

Here are Bradley and David enjoying the fire.

And setting up the third tent...

The next day we hiked up the road - like 100 ft - and there was this lovely almost dried creek. I imagine it's gorgeous when the water is running heavy but these last 12 months have been so, so dry that there was hardly any moving water - just pools.

And a picture of me!

Wow! James and his brother look so much alike!
